The Platycerium is also known as Hertshoornvaren and yes, it is a sailing species. He has quite a strange shape, but that makes him so much fun. You can apply it in various ways: on the table or in the window in a sturdy pot or hanging in a plant hanger. To limit the evaporation of the plant and to absorb air moisture, the leaf is covered with a gray -white felty layer. However, this felt layer should never be wiped! A tip from our Platycerium grower Chris van den Heuvel: "In the period from October to March the plant will hold a" rest period ", then he can safely have less water (but not let it dry!"
Care tips: partial shade, no direct sunlight. Suitable for dark location. Ideal temperature 18 - 22 ºC. Give water on the dish / in the decorative pot. Fertilize once a month. Loves high humidity. Not spraying. Not dusting.
