Origin The Begonia is found in the wild in the rainforests of Asia, Africa and America and belongs to the Begoniaceae (Begonia family). There are approximately 1000 species of this plant.
Care The ideal temperature for the Begonia is ± 20 ºC (room temperature) throughout the year. Provide a light location, but avoid full sun. The Begonia likes high humidity. Keep the potting soil moderately moist and give some plant food with the irrigation water once every fourteen days. Preferably use lukewarm and lime arm water. Regularly remove the wilted flowers and the dead plant parts. This helps prevent fungal formation and it extends the flowering period.
The best tips to take care of your plant:
Lots of light, not in the bright sun. Ideal temperature 18 - 20 ºC. Keep moist, potting soil should not dry out. Fertilize once a week in the summer. Fertilize once a week in the winter. Remove faded flowers. Remove dead leaves.
